What Does Doubling Pork REALLY Mean?

As recently as 1979, Indiana had twice as many hogs (6.7million) as it has today (3.2 million).  Indiana has lost 87% of its pork farms and associated tax revenue in the last 25 years.

When you hear comments about doubling pork production, remember farmers are just trying to get back to production levels they've lost since 1979.
